‍What Is the UM token and what is it used for?

The UM token is the native staking and utility token of Penumbra, a private-by-default blockchain built using parts of the IBC stack. With UM, anyone would be able to shield, stake, swap and delegate their votes within Penumbra.

Step-by-Step Guide on Swapping USDC for UM

1. Navigate to Osmosis & Connect Wallet

• Go to app.osmosis.zone
  
  
• Click “Connect Wallet”
  
  
• Select Keplr and approve the connection

2. Select the Swap Tab

• From the main interface, click trade and go to “Swap”
  
  
• Choose USDC as the token to sell
  
  
• Choose UM as the token to receive
  
  
• Input how much USDC you want to swap (e.g., 1 USDC)
  
  

The interface will show the estimated amount of UM you’ll receive.

3. Review Slippage & Market Details

  • Slippage tolerance
    
  • Network fees
    
    

5. Confirm the Swap

• Click “Swap”
  
  
• Approve the transaction in Keplr

• After the swap, return to your Osmosis Portfolio
